Re: Touch Pro...Another dissapointment???
I think what we have here is a classic case of hardware/software natural selection. Its just like graphics cards and new games. Its always better, but you always lose...
Now for some off-topic goodness that has been the theme of this topic: I thought I read somewhere that Vista has more problems, but less fatal crashes than XP. Meaning you have to reboot more, but cold reboot less, lol. Actually, did anybody read those internal letters at microsoft? Pretty sad, I think MS got screwed by manufacturers like Intel. And it really isn't Microsoft's fault that drivers are still poor. That is the hardware manufacturer's fault. Creative didn't have a Vista driver for over 6 MONTHS after Vista came out for their X-Fi cards! That isn't Microsoft's fault. The released the driver framework (admitedly very different from XP) well in advance to releasing Vista. And IMO, getting rid of hardware abstraction was a good thing. Every try to set up surround sound with a card for live TV in XP MCE 2005? So much easier in Vista MC. As to Vista running slower, well I thought that is expected. You try to do more things, so you have to run more code. More code means slower processing. Anyhow I have 2 Vista machines, and I dual boot on both (actually I triple boot with Mac OS X on my HP Lappy!). Still, I've been very satisfied with Vista on my clean installs. I can't imagine what it would be like using manufacturer installs. XP bloatware was bad enough. |

Re: Touch Pro...Another dissapointment???
Ok, after reading the last 4 pages lemme say, I did Vista Ultimate on my Toshiba 1.5Ghz 1Gb laptop and it ran fine but overall it sucked because I didnt like it. I had no issues with WMDC but I just didnt like it and still dont. IF it is out selling XP it is because it is being forced on users with them buying new PCs. If Im not mistaken Dell even went back to offering XP on thier PCs because of all the backlash from Vista and MS extended thier XP support because of the same. That in itself should tel you something.
I also agree they should have made the Touch Pro with the Diamonds internal memory. ICs are much smaller now and can be added with ease. I dont think the KB on the Touch Pro is in the way. With that being said, I ordered a Diamond and should be getting it in the next few days. I am anxious to see it and play with it. Will I change carriers due to it being GSM? IDK, my chick has ATT so I may try it out and see what I think of it.

Re: Touch Pro...Another dissapointment???
that gonna suck though witht he diamond because every time you flash your phone, your gonna have to backup all the stuff you want saved on your phone, since you cant save it to a micro sd card. every time you flash its gonna erase everything :-\

Re: Touch Pro...Another dissapointment???
The internal storage is actually treated just like a storage card. Data isn't lost after hard resets or ROM flashes.
