Re: Touch Pro...Another dissapointment???
The major problem with new devices is that the manufacturers can make whatever the carriers order, lets face it, the technology is far ahead of what we end up being able to buy, the decision on what goes into a phone is dictated by what carriers are willing to pay and anticipate sales of their major income:usage and plans. The everyday user spends a huge amount more money on stupid ringers and game downloads and minute overages than us 'savvy', freebie seeking users do for huge data/minute plans.
So we get powerful devices that 'could have been this or that' because the return on investment for 'what we really want' is small. Carriers make more on garbage dumb phones than they will ever see on powerhouse devices.
That said, HTC releasing the Touch Pro with far more ram/processor/video integration is a huge leap compared to anything else out there now in a pocket sized devide. I for one eagerly await the cdma version, A 4" screen would have been the eyef0ne killer, but sigh, cant have everything....
