SSK and set the pagepool to 6 or less depending on what you want to run.

Re: ia there a vzw tp rom that works...

Scrolser's roms are written for VZW but you can run ANY of the roms out there you just have to change the pagepool of the rom before you flash it for Verizon TPs.

I personally don't use pre-cooked ROMs anymore I use Kitchens (currently using TMartin's SenseUI version based on Cal's Kitchen.

Basically the trick is to keep the rom as clean as possible (just the the stuff that MUST be run from and installed to the device) then set the Pagepool to 6 or 8 (I use 8 in my cook) then install everything else to the storage card.

There are some other tweaks to do to keep things going smoothly so you don't eat up your ram after awhile...

1) use the disable push internet cab...
2) set email to store it's data on the storage card (via settings)
3) set Opera to use the Storage card for Cache
a) Open Opera and type opera:config into the location bar,
b) go to user prefs and change the directory 4 setting from windows/opera/etc to Storage Card/opera/etc

If you don't do those steps your email and Opera will write files to the device and you will at some point need to hard reset to clean up space so you can run programs.

hard reset or soft reset ??? lol anyhow... when in opera config do you need the \ in front of storage card or not?? I will just try it either way to get it to work still can't look at websites with lots of pictures or I am running out of mem quick

Hard Reset! A Soft reset (using the pointer to press the recessed reset button) is nothing more than a reboot of the machine.

A Hard reset (the Clear Ram program) will wipe the memory clean of all files and settings that were not part of the flashed rom.

I believe the slash is needed but if you simply replace the windows with the text storage card you will be fine.

You really need to do these tweaks right after flashing so that they do not eat up any ram in the device.

So for the email stuff, set up the account and immediatly cancel the send and recieve it does after finishing the email wizard, go to tools options and change the setting to use storage card for email.

I also notice that the problem of RAM errors are a lot more common if your running a senseUI rom flavor. I'm sure SPB users with a verizon TP are having the same issue.

You really need to strip the ROM (via a Kitchen is the ONLY way) of everything that is not completely needed. IF it can be installed to a storage card take it out of the ROM and install it manually (or with sdconfig) to the storage card as it will leave that much more memory for your web browser to use.

Even if you save as much ram as you can there will still be websites that are just not optimized enough to allow display on a mobile device like the TP.
Remember it needs ram for the display as well as the downloaded files...

Re: ia there a vzw tp rom that works...

Thanks for the suggestions.

To solve this problem I'm just going to stick with the stock ROM... I have no ram problems with anything doing that and with tf enabled. I may even start to attempt to make my own rom, or just deal with it and get a new device soon!
