Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

So what's the battery life like with this project? Is it still not really practical to use regularly?

Same as WM if you are a heavy data user. about 3-5hrs. That is my experience with it though some have had better.

VZW TP (RAPH500) doesn't work at this point. Still looking for someone to get in there and figure out what broke it (something that happened last september/october, I believe).

It's practical to use regularly if you've got chargers everywhere. And, considering the battery life in WinMo, I already did.

Of course, if you forget and leave it off the charger overnight in WinMo, your phone isn't dead in the morning. With Android, it unquestionably is.

Anyway, if I've had it on the charger during the day (which I usually do), I'll take it out for the evening in Android without worrying. But if I had to be out without a charger for a whole day, I wouldn't think of using Android.

HAMAC:

The answer is yes and no. Outgoing is working with your settings and the new sqush being used... Incoming is still a no go...

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

I wouldn't bother until at least tomorrow, maybe a couple days. Thanks to bzo and eval- (and to a lesser extent, myself) there's a fix for the double tap issue with the touchscreen. MrPippy should commit it to the main tree soon (I hope). He's also got a patch for cdma data that may or may not make things a little more stable. Once those come down, I'll wrap up a new All-in-One and alert everyone.

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

I am still new to running android on my phone and just got it working last week. Am I right that when new updates come out I just need to replace the zImage, system.sqsh, ROOTFS.IMG and modules-2.6.27-00970.....tar.gz files on my phone or do I really need to back everything up and do a clean install of android then restore all my settings and files?

i know the out going was working but have we sucessufully sent an attachment and had it received on the other end?

when playing with the mms.apk's i was able to attach an audio file, send it to my g/f's diamond, she received it but it would only download to about 99% and freeze. can't tell if it's her phone our my android.

i think once the album opens up to us we should be able to attach pics and whatnot.

When an update comes out, all you need to replace are the files that are updated. Usually that's just the zImage and modules. Sometimes the rootfs. Sometimes the system.sqsh. On a rare occasion the startup.txt or eclair.user.conf.

Usually if I post an update, I'll mention what needs to be grabbed. A clean reinstall is not necessary unless you're having problems.

mapaz04 was able to attach pics by using a different system.sqsh that did include the picture-handling functions. So you're right on that count.
