Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

Hello again. I posted a few days ago about issues I was having with a kernel panic message, which was stopping Android from booting. I managed to fix it by reflashing the device with the stock ROM. I had been running EnergyROM before, but after flashing back to stock it works fine. Fortunately, I have a spare Touch Pro that I can play around with for this stuff so I don't have to mess up the settings on my everyday-use phone.

Thanks to many on this thread for your help and hard work!

Wow. That's pretty baffling. I don't think anyone else has been unable to boot due to their ROM. Glad it's working for you now.

That is baffling, as I run EnergyROM as well... and I have run several iterations of his ROM alongside Android for months now.

The last two you posted(5/7, 5/11) have not booted for me.

I'll have to try another sd card and format it, etc.

What's happening? Are you getting a looping boot screen (the animated X)? Where is it failing?

wow someone with a windows mobile related problem? thats a first for me too.

well this brings in new questions but it could be something that energyrom wasn't initalizing and that android was not liking because of that. was energyrom running with issues too?

i've had almost all the roms and run android from them. currently nfsfans rom. no differences between them.

I've got a clean SD-card that I used to run the previous Makk AIO: same result - endless rebooting. Haven't tried any updates yet... just running off the AIO package in the first post.

Edit: re-formatted (FAT) sdcard and copied the AIO again - still same result (freeze/reboot X logo)

Edit: ran the MJGDroidUtil to update (forced CDMA and all 3 options updated) with same result (freeze/reboot X logo)

Edit: re-formatted (FAT) sdcard and then manually updatd with rootfs-20100511-49df02c.zip from http://xdandroid.southcape.org/rootfs/ and still same result

Edit: re-formatted sdcard and copied AIO, then manaully copied new rootfs, new initrd, and new zimage - still same result.

Edit: re-format, and hard-built everything with latest everyting ;-) still same result... going to try an older kernel build.

Im new to this whole thing, really just anticipating getting an EVO. I installed the All-in-one and when I download a program from the apps folder it gives me the message "Installation error: insufficient storage available" on my 16gb card.

It also dims the screen quite a bit after unlock, too much.

Turn off the auto-backlight option in WinMo before booting Hareet.
