Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800)

Hey guys. I threw the latest on my Raph800, and it gets to a certain point on the scrolling terminal boot screen and says "Kernel panic: not syncing. Attempted to kill init!" and then "Rebooting in 7 seconds..." and then it reboots into WM. I've tried all the latest zImage, modules, and rootfs, as well as all of those things on top of the normal package (http://connect-utb.com/index.php?opt...92:android-2-0). I've also tried formatting the SD card and putting the stuff back on fresh. I am using the correct startup.txt, and I have checked to make sure the files aren't getting corrupted on the SD card. No matter what I do, I get the exact same issue.

Help!

Thanks.

Looks like you've tried all the usual suspects... You didn't mention one of the biggies tho - have you blown away the data.img and started fresh in that sense?

If you have, then based on your post you've tried everything else I normally suggest short of another SD card which may also be worth a shot...

a couple more suggestions, you mentioned you formatted the card, have you partitioned it at all? could be the wrong partition is screwing something up. also how much room is on your card? you'll need a minimum of 500mb after the android files are on the card.

The system fails to boot, saying something about "Cannot mount SD Card"
This is usually due to the card being incorrectly partitioned. Some have reported luck using the HP Disk Tool (Google) to repartition and reformat. If you have access to a linux distribution, GParted can easily repartition. The correct state is one primary partition (the failing cards tend to have one extended partition, containing one logical partition).
this may be of help too. i know the error is different but it's worth a try.

have you had android running previously with other builds?

I'm currently running the Just Works ROM on my Touch Pro. I was wondering if this will show any big improvements over what I'm currently running in terms of performance. The new ROM defiantly improved on the stock phone. I've done some research but I can't really get a good answer.

Where is data.img supposed to be? I didn't find it anywhere on my SD card.

It is a 1GB card, formatted into a single primary FAT32 partition. I also had an older version running just fine on it.

It essentially "replaces" Windows, but not permanently. Go ahead and try it, you can't hurt anything.

The latest package is working awesome except my phone gets really hot and the battery only lastest an hour or 2. Any suggestions to improve battery life?
