Captnoord has committed a raph navi pad change in a recent kernel. That would be my first guess for the cause of the problem. I don't know what exactly was changed.

Was anything changed with the keymapping? I thought they had those almost perfect (except maybe the caps lock and the fn button light...), and now the semicolon, colon, comma, period and apostrophe are all screwed up...

Looks like there was a change to the raph100 kcm on April 9th. I'd guess that's it.

Jeebus, did it really take me this long to notice it? I haven't heard anybody else comment on it either, perhaps it only effects our lowly 800's?

Bryan D. Stine committed 7ca15774 on April 09, 2010 00:55
Add source kcm files for Fuze and updated RAPH100 WWE layouts

Bryan D. Stine committed bddfc43c on April 09, 2010 00:55
Add star and pound to the updated RAPH100 WWE kcm.bin, so that they work in dialer

I believe the raph100 and raph800 have the exact same keyboard externally, but the way they're mapped internally differs. So it's possible that introduced a problem only on raph800; I would say unlikely, but possible.

And the rabbit hole deepens. I only noticed this when I went to the 2.1 update from 5/3... What controls the keyboard layout anyways? Isn't there a line in the startup that determines what layout your device uses?

ok just did it again. put screen to sleep. noticed my led light were not dancing like usual when you put the phone to sleep. tried to turn the screen back on, didn't want to turn on the first few tries (freeze?). finally after pressing the home button (top left button) and the end button a few times, the screen popped back on. hit the back button and the screen turns off. grr!!

Yes. And the file is loaded from the rootfs. Did you lose the physkeyboard= setting from your startup.txt?
