If that is the case, then it make sense that I can't do a hard reset that way. Please explain. Thanks |

Only way I can hard reset is using the Clear Storage program. The buttons don't work for me. DRJONZ has the same issue as me. If I read BOGGSIE reply correctly, it might be because of the stock rom. Please correct me if I am wrong someone. |

With the power off (completely off, not in hibernate mode) you should be able to press (Vol-Down+D-Pad+Power) and get a prompt to wipe your personal information. Best regards, -boggsie |

Re: Can't do a hard reset
On my touch pro it requires 3 hands and a foot to hard reset :P You hold down volume down, the center dpad, the power button and the soft reset button with the stylus until it gives you the prompt. I think you're forgetting the soft reset button on your attempts.
The same selections without the center d-pad gets you into bootloader mode for flashing. |

I have a SPRINT stock rom (ver 2.01.651.6) and I power off (holding the power button till it says that 'power will be turned off, and you may lose data ......" ) and then tap yes. After it powers off, sometimes I wait mins or hours then I try to use the 3 buttons to hard reset. But to no avail. The TP just powers back on with the Touch Pro word then sprint splash logo, then MW 6.1, then launching TF3D then Today page. I can only reset using the CLEAR STORAGE program. Do you or anyone have any idea why I can't hard rest using the buttons? I don't seem to be the only one that can't hard reset with the 3 buttons (see several post above from DRJONZ) |
