Re: after a year... i found out how to type using on screen keyboard
First, which onscreen keyboard/sip are you using?
I solved this problem for myself simply by using the onscreen phone keypad and enabling T9, since it's just like using my old Nokia. Works perfect for me. Have you tried that?

I never got used to typing on a regular phone keypad. I had a Treo 650 and a 600 before the Touch Pro so I've had qwerty keyboards since I started typing on phones. Jason |

Re: after a year... i found out how to type using on screen keyboard
I've been using FITALY for years, and along with the old-style word suggestions, I'm able to type quite efficiently (particularly love the Expander and using slides to capitalize letters and/or type special characters). Every other on-screen keyboard I've used has paled in comparison for me (I may give Swype a try, though - looks interesting).
Though there's a bit of a learning curve involved, since the keys are arranged differently, it's fairly easy to pick up (I used their FitalyLetris game to help get the hang of it in no time). Granted, I need the stylus for it to work well, but I actually prefer not adding unnecessary fingerprints to the screen. In a pinch, namely when having to type one-handed, I use the hardware keyboard from time to time. Last edited by hec; 12-16-2009 at 05:30 PM. |

Been using it only for like 2 hours, watch a few tutorials and did the walkthrough tutorial/interactive tutorial on my phone. NICE! Touch Pro USCC |

Using my left hand:
I rest the base just below my index finger, place the tip of my pointer finger toward the left end of the base, curl the middle and ring fingers to hold the base, put my pinkie under the right end to keep the phone from sliding out of my hand and use my thumb to type (usually quick responses to texts). |
