Re: Always says 1 new text message

I had the same problem a day or two after updating to the 11/25 MightyRom release... I don't know if the problem was related to MR though.

Either way, wheck out the .exe file on link below. Run it from the device. After running it once or twice and doing a soft reset or two, it worked for me. Hope it helps!

Re: Always says 1 new text message

What in the world are you guys talking about? When your phone shows a text message count when no new messages exist, it's called a ghost message. And its not complicated AT ALL to fix! No messing with copying .dll files or deleting things.

View my post here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...22&postcount=3

Download the zip file and run the EXE on your phone. Soft-reset and VOILA! Problem solved.

Re: Always says 1 new text message

Well I'd like to say that either solution worked but neither did. The copying of the dll still states that access is denied and can perform the copy and paste with either file explorer program. Also the fixunread things goes thru and finds is says something about 1 is not 0 and then soft reset - still shows up that I have 1 unread message - so far I am tempted to blow the phone out and then put that new dll in place. What do you guys think?

Re: Always says 1 new text message

I had to run the program (from my post) twice before my phantom notification went away.

The first time it said that the inbox was 1, then it changed to 0 or something. I think I did a soft reset after that. I still had the notification. The second time I ran it, it said it was 0. After, I exited the program the second time, I think the notification was gone.

Good luck!

ps. My girlfriend is originally from Langhorne in Bucks County, PA.

use resco file explorer...you can find a cab here somewhere...the fixed dll will fix your issue...

Re: Always says 1 new text message

ive recently had that same problem. i read a couple threads which all mostly pointed to the same cab given above, or the .dll needing to be be changed with resco or total comander... I tried the first option with the cab and the first time i ran it it removed the 1 unread from the mail account menu (start>>messaging) but it still showed in the tf3d messages tab that i had 1 unread. then i tried to soft reset but it was still there... then i figured what the hell mine as well try the other way with the .dll thing but before i finished downloading total commander and transferring it to the phone the 1 un read dissapeared. So even if its not right away the cab file does work, i just had to wait a few mins like the guy in the post said, well it was more like 10 -15 mins but hey im happy thanks dude
