Re: Which rom do you guys like?
In term of preloaded apps, I see it as:
Juicy: almost none MightRom: as little as possible Energy: more preloaded stuff I think Energy is best one for people to try first if you want all basic apps already included. The latest release is stable from my experience. I recommend Energy the most. MightRom is my favorite choice since it has a very clean interface and doesn't include any extra apps, I'll have to install them myself. Juicy seem to be the more barebone of the three for the pro users, which I'm not so I'll try it again later. Last edited by eksasol; 11-25-2009 at 05:21 AM. |

Re: Which rom do you guys like?
I think one ROM users seriously overlook is Mr. X ROM (made by Juggalo_X). He works in close collaboration with MightyMike and they always test the hell out of their ROMs. They will NOT put a single thing in if they know it doesn't work properly. I have personally tested things for them and can vouch for their thoroughness.

Since flashing Juicy R3 I have never once had to use the hardware reset button. I was running Mighty before which as everyone knows is fast & 100% stable. R3 has its disadvantages of course, some people cannot live with the lack of landscape in a 2.5 ROM & I had a terrible time getting MMS to work (works fine now) but I am still running R3 & I can't even remember the last time my system froze up. I love the features of manila 2.5 and would have a really hard time going back to manila 2.1 at this point. A good example is the weather on the home screen. When I am at work, it can really be awesome to just glance at the home screen & know what the weather is doing outside without having to go to another screen or update etc.. When I first flashed to Mighty that's what I THOUGHT I was getting. It took me about a week to figure out that the weather in manila 2.1 only updates every 3 hours (& there is no way to change that) so it is basically worthless. In Juicy ROM's 2.5 setup, I have the weather set to update every 15 minutes & it works perfectly. I thought this might totally kill my battery life, but that has not happened at all. I carry a spare battery with me, but I have never had to use it once. ~John |
