Re: #777 undoing the data disconnect hack :/

Hmmm...I'm a bit hesitant about the cab in this thread. No disrespect to the developer; I just don't want to have call answering problems again. I have my mail set to check every 4 hours, and I just cut off the automatic update on the weather (those are the only two things I can think of that would automatically cut data back on), so I'll see if that garners any improvements.

Any other feedback about these two cabs working together?

Re: #777 undoing the data disconnect hack :/

Not working for me. I have both cabs installed, but the arrows are constantly on. I'm going to try uninstalling both cabs and manually change the registry values like in the second post of this thread to see if it makes a difference.

Is this a problem with every Touch Pro 2, or is it with certain ROM's or just a random occurance? I didn't really notice much of a problem myself until I flashed to the EnergyROM Phoenix. I'm really liking the ROM though, so I would hate to have to flash back to something else.

I uninstalled both Cabs, manually changed the registry values (which neither of the cabs did btw) and restarted my phone, but it still looks like the data connection will not shut off.

Re: #777 undoing the data disconnect hack :/

hi guys, can you check something for me?

when my connection hangs on the "connection present not active" icon, if I press the red hang up button (physical button) on the phone, my connection icon will then go to no connection present.

this has worked for me 100% of the time so far (havent check it that many times though).

can the rest of you try it and see if you get the same behavior and report back?

obviously i have not figured out what is going on yet just trying to see if the same thing works for you guys

Thanks,
Ryan

Ryan - that red hang up button is mapped by you to terminate data connection on demand.
It's in the All Settings>Personal>Button>EndKey.

So while it does terminate your data connection, how does this help the disconnect automation we are looking for without the negative side effects?

i checked there and my end key is not mapped to anything.

i was just trying to verify if this works for everyone. if it does maybe we can figure out a fix - maybe create a link to the end key in the registry somehow ??? dont know...

Re: #777 undoing the data disconnect hack :/

guys, i have been testing a "fix" for the not being able to answer phone calls issue and so far it has been working for me.

would some of you also try it and let me know? still trying to figure out how to get the data connection to drop without pressing the end key...

anyway - I changed the reg edit for SuspendResume, the orignal change we tried was:

HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\
Set "SuspendResume" to 58 00 00 00 33 00 99 00 88 00 39 00 58 00 39 00 29
Set "CacheTime" to 60

I am currently running:

HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\
Set "SuspendResume" to !~GPRS
Set "CacheTime" to 60

I have been able to answer all calls so far, and my connection still acts as before (when it hangs if I press End it drops).

Let me know how this works for you guys...

Thanks,
Ryan

Re: #777 undoing the data disconnect hack :/

Yeah, I tried and this didn't work well for me. I have the #777 cab, and just set up one of my hard key buttons to "terminate data connection with long key press" using rhodium keyboard settings. My mail is set to check every 4 hours and I put my weather to update manually rather than automatically. After I'm done fiddling on the internet or what is using data, I just use the hard key to end the data session.

Just my 2 cents.

Re: #777 undoing the data disconnect hack :/

My data connection won't shut off even with the end key. I'm going to try a hard reset this weekend and hopefully that will fix it.
