#777 undoing the data disconnect hack :/
Apparently I cannot have my cake & eat it too with this phone. I use Adv. Config to set the data to disconnect after 1 minute, then I use SKtools's reg editor to change the GPRS_if_bye setting in the registry to #777. So theoretically I should now be able to not worry about a constant data connection sucking my battery dry, nor should I have any problems answering it if I'm on an active data connection, right? WRONG. I have found that the #777 edit somehow disables the automatic disconnect setting even though it still says it's enabled. I have sat & watched the arrows & they just don't disconnect. I have to manually disconnect the data. It works just fine if I leave the GPRS key intact, but then I can't answer my phone when it rings.
My question is- why does it do this? Does anyone have these same results with these 2 edits & has anyone figured out a workaround? I don't wanna have to choose between the 2. I've been choosing the #777 over auto-DC but I'd like to have both. |

try this:
Code:
HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\ |

Thanks. This seems to work except that it wakes the device & goes to 1x whenever it disconnects.
EDIT- NM, it only did that once. Works great. Thanks! |

What does this registry change do exactly?
(What is different in this value than just #777?) EDIT: this does not work for me, the data does not disconnect, also when a call comes in it lets you answer but there is a 3 second delay between the time i slide accept and the call connects... |

Better battery (it does seem to take a slight amount of power in standby). It solves the #777 Popup messages. It solves the the Hangup issues. But I noticed the Brain Dead HTC weather didn't update. I suspect it may be 60 seconds is too short so I bumped it 120 seconds. |
Re: #777 undoing the data disconnect hack :/
So that Cab will automatically disconnect my net connection, after it lets say, syncs my mail or updates my weather? or is it a tweak to an actual program?
