Re: #777 undoing the data disconnect hack :/
Question: Everyone is wanting to disable/turn off their data connection to SAVE BATTERY, correct?
Did anyone do any testing on actual device battery amperage draw with the suspendresume set to #777? I have in the past. Here's the deal, the arrows which show data connectivity lie to you. If you set the SuspendResume to #777 and the CacheTime to 60 the phone will do exactly what you are telling it to do. Disconnect data after 60 seconds of inactivity. What I did during testing was to monitor the current draw after the data disconnected using #777 (arrows still showing) and the amperage draw after data disconnect using other means (regedits) with the data arrows not shown. The results were exactly the same. The #777 does it's job and quite well it just doesn't turn off the data arrows. It also doesn't screw with answering the phone. Using advanced config to modify anything dealing with disconnecting the data will have some negative effect on answering the phone. My device currently draws about 57mAps when on, with no apps running and the backlight dimmed using normal settings with the data connection arrows showing. This is the same that I got with my TP. Pretty darn good. |

Does it matter if the radio button in "CacheTime=60" is set to hexadecimal or decimal?

I tried hard resetting my phone, and I do not have the problem on the clean ROM. When I ran SPB Backup to restore everything the problem was back. It has to be a software program that is causing the problem, so it may take me a while but I'm going to install all my software in small groups to see if I can track down exactly which program is causing the problem. If anyone has suggestions on which programs could be the culprit I'll be happy to test those early. Right now I'm going to focus on anything that uses the data connections like Browsers and Weather programs etc... |
Re: #777 undoing the data disconnect hack :/
I think I've narrowed my problem down to having Windows Live email set to sync "As items arrive" when this is on, my data connection will not turn off, and my backlight will not turn off either. with it set to sync manually everything is fine. Currently Windows Live version 10.7 came installed with this ROM. I tried upgrading to version 11.1 through Marketplace, but it did not fix the issue. I've always had my emails set to sync as items arrive, but I've never noticed the data connection staying on like this.
