Re: touch pro 2 bricked

that's what I was wondering, chronster. I'm starting to wonder if the OP flashing something for a different device. That would surely cause a problem like we're hearing.

Kind of weird IMO. This is the second post I have seen that someone "bricked" their phone with a GPS fix. The first one was a sprint person who said they flashed a GPS fix from sprint and it "bricked" their phone and now AT&T user says they used a GPS fix and the same thing happened. I want to know... WHAT GPS FIX? I can't seem to find it.

Re: touch pro 2 bricked

I doubt a GPS fix could brick the phone. Probably just a coincidence. Phones do break normally without reason just like any other electronic device. Even if your ROM is screwed and your Phone won't boot, you should at the very least see the HTC Screen with the red writing at the bottom. It may not go past that but you should at least get that far, even if you had no rom on the phone at all.

i wonder if he flashed to a different radio? never heard of such a fix myself, or of anyone having issues with gps that would require such a thing. odd...

best of luck, glad to hear htc is helping you out

p.s. - and do you mean the "ssk" kitchen? as i am using that and have seen no such fix, then again i am on 6.5. but may wanna try the sskusers.net for any help related to that kitchen

Re: touch pro 2 bricked

Hm, so you don't need to do something like this? - How To: Configure GPS - PPC Geeks

I remember I had to do that for my diamond because supposedly sprint locks the GPS in order to make you use their navi software..

I haven't played around with TP2 roms yet nor have I gotten google maps on my TP2 but I thought the "use gps" won't work without the "fix"?

Is that what the OP is referring to?

Re: touch pro 2 bricked

I think he must have downloaded some kind of "GPS Fix" for HTC branded phones. Not AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, or Tmobile, but the unlocked international (original) version.
