As someone who wanted the TP2 to fail and hated it. I'd say that you will not regret spending the $375 on it. I still stand by the battery thing though. I think that all the ones saying that had some horrible settings in their TP1. Not that it is bad but I don't see an improvement.
Then again, it was probably the gps or the data connection's fault
I like the phone even in it's stock form. Sprint Navigator still lagged though which was disappointing.
