wow, Is 9.7 final even released officially from opera? I found a cab for 9.7 a few weeks back, but I didn't think it was the final version.

9.7 isnt final. They still are releasing 9.5 builds for the time being. We wont see any new v10 builds for a while like it was when the 9.7 beta was released.

The guy in the video claimed 9.7 was made for the leo and its capacitive screen to support the pinch zooming.

Re: opera mobile 10 BETA!

and opera 10.10 for pc isnt as good. the rendering is lacking. pictures are noticebly pixelated, but the turbo loads pages extreeeeeeeemely fast. faster then my turbocharged firefox

but going into landscape is lil sluggish

Re: opera mobile 10 BETA!

Web turbo and opera turbo seem to help. I dont see the options in the menu though. I had to set the minimum font to 15 cause it was too small. Weird that I had to go through the ini file to change this usual stuff.

Does the install replace Opera 9.5, or can you have both at once (and switch back and forth as you please) without having to uninstall/reinstall?

Re: opera mobile 10 BETA!

does it overwrite opera 9.5? (edit) see post above

hec 11-18-2009 09:43 AM

Re: opera mobile 10 BETA!

It leaves 9.5 intact.

Though it's good to have it as a backup, I wish the new one would have some way of importing 9.5's bookmarks and/or IE's Favorites. Quite an oversight, IMHO.

i havent been able to use zoom bar, but it seems to have a new way of zooming ... also for some reason, landscape and auto-rotation is not working on my phone ... it only switches to landscape when i pull-out the qwerty ... anyone else having this problem?

my launch browser now seems to launch opera 10 so it might be replacing it.

Is there a way to import Favorites from 9.5/9.7? I looked for an Opera6.adr file and could not find one.

no its not replacing the old opera, also Remember its a beta, auto rotation and zoom bar probably havent been implemented yet........

Awesome browser but for me it hesitates too much sometimes before going to the page......

9.5 is in ROM. It can't be replaced, except as the selected default browser.

i'm on turbo mode and its faster than 9.5 for me. i actually like it alot better than 9.5 besides the lack of zoom bar and auto-rotation currently. its resource release seems way better than 9.5 as well.

in the video on pocketnow.com the guy says that it doesnt support the g-sensor yet so landscape only works with the keyboard

i found my 9.7 favorites under IE favorites in 10b. i think theres a way in 9.5 and 9.7 to save your bookmarks under IE favorites, then u can open them easily in 10b

Every time I hit the Launch Browser button in TF3D it tries to load up file://localhost/home in the address bar. It then gives me an error "Could not open file".

When I uninstalled opera 10. TF3D loads up iexplorer when pressing the Launch Browser...

Did anyone have this problem?
How do I get it back to load opera 9.5

Thanks in advance

Re: opera mobile 10 BETA!

Good find thanks.

I like it.

It has the same new Home Page as Opera Mini which I'm not too keen about. Too many sites have something obscure in the upper left corner and some sites have nothing. I like how the Droid does it, it takes a thumbnail of a good part of the page, it looks very good and easy to recognize.

My biggest gripe is flick scrolling through a page. Only iPhone and Opera Mini "Stay Snapped" to a column of Text. Why can't other browsers do this? As you scroll you zig zag down the screen and have to keep recentering it. Drives me insane.

Other than that it's working quite good and is very fast.

I wish the gyro would auto rotate the darn thing.

Turbo mode actually seemed a tad slower to me. But I have not tested it that long.

I'm kinda glad the hardware zoom control is ignored I swear it messed up zooming permanently in my 9.5 install. Zooming is totally whacko in 9.5 once I used that zoom control. It's almost perfect in 10.0 beta now. How ever it will size up the width based on the text you click on but then is dumb and doesn't center on it. Again iPhone safari does this perfect. It is beta and is the best Mobile Browse for WM yet. I think it may bump opera mini.

I can hear the chatter of ROM Cookers HDD's building new roms with Opera 10.0 Beta right now :)

Re: opera mobile 10 BETA!

Pretty nice. Good speed and the scrolling is soooo much smoother and precise. Couple gripe points though:

1) tap to zoom in, but can't tap to zoom out. Granted, I just have to tap the unzoom button in the bottom left.
2) can't bring up the status bar to see connection strength and notices.
3) rotation on keyboard slide is slooooooooooooow.
4) seems to be a little more sensitive to link selections. Had quite a few times where I was scrolling or zooming and it thought I clicked a link and started loading a page.
