You don't need to. I have 9.5, 9.7, and 10 on my phone at the same time with no issues.

Anyone else getting the "file://localhost/home" error when you try to lead opera mobile 10 from manila?

I'm on Juicy's 3 Rom and would really like my 9.5 back so I can use the zoom bar. Would anyone know how to get my Opera back as the default on my TF3D bar? I did remover Opera 10 and rebooted by the way. I still have Opera 9.5 on my list of programs....but
Thanks in advance if someone can help.
](*,)](*,)](*,)](*,)

Had the same issue with file://localhost/home error... Now the fix that I did, did not make my opera 10 the default but rather reverted it back to 9.5.

Do the following: Type in "opera:config" (without the quotes) in the address bar of opera mobile 10.

scrolling down to Network and unchecking "Check Local HostName"

That stopped the annoying page that loads "Could Not Open File" and now when you Launch Internet from TF3D it launches opera 9.5. I still have opera mobile 10 and I can launch from the start menu.

As far as for Tiger505... I was in your shoes when I uninstalled opera 10. To fix it I had to reinstall and then do the steps above.

Let me know how it works out for you guys :)

That didn't work for me :(... Opera 10 was still the default and that stupid "file://localhost/home" error still came up.

I followed your directions, Am I missing something?

Update: I used a cab that made Opera 9.5 default again, allowing me to keep Opera 10, the best of all worlds.

hmmm... It worked for me...
After I reinstalled opera 10 I ran it from start menu... there is some confirmation you need to agree on. I then ran opera:config and unchecked check local host name.

Hope that helps

Thanks anyway. Maybe there is a difference between Verizon and Sprint TP2s? Or maybe something is changed/different in the rom I am running.
I attached the cab for others who had my problem.
It ended up getting the same result: Opera 9.5 as the default with the option of using Opera 10 from the start menu. (Also the annoying localhost error is no longer present when I run Opera 10.)

Now bring on Opera Mobile 11!!!

does the virtual keyboard pop up when you try to enter text in v10b? It's a pain when I try to enter usernames etc. However, as I'm typing this I notice it has disappeared??? I don't even know when it went away!

it will still pop up as soon as you "click" on a blank form...but just as in 9.7 as soon. as you start typing on the keyboard it goes away...

Re: opera mobile 10 BETA!

in my opinion these opera browsers keep getting worse. 9.5 is the best so far to me. opera 9.7 and 10 are weak. this newest version kind of reminds me of opera mini. but between the zoom and the fact that opera 10 is taking longer to load pages, i dont see any benefit of this browser.

Re: opera mobile 10 BETA!

I found a link on pocketnow.com to allow G-Sensor to work with Opera 10 (http://pocketnow.com/how-to/get-g-se...pera-mobile-10). The Instructions are as follows:

Registry fix to enable auto-rotation:

1) With a registry editor, navigate to: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER (HKCU) \\ Software \ HTC \ HTCSENSOR \ GSensor \ ModuleName”
2) From there, add a string with the name “Opera10” and string value “\Program Files\Opera Mobile 10\Opera10-armv4i.exe”
3) Then navigate to: “HKCU \\ Software \ HTC \ HTCSENSOR \ GSensor \ WhiteList”
4) Add a string with name “Opera10” and string value “OM10-ML-MainWndClass” (Please note that Whitelist string value is case sensitive!)
5) Finally, you will need to soft reset for changes to take.

I have been using it since I saw this. It works great. The best browser that I have downloaded. I would love to see flash integration, but this is definitely a step in the right direction. It will open videos in your youtube player.

Oh this thing (10) absolutely sucks, worst I have seen yet. For me mini 4.2 is the best followed bt mini 5 which has a lot of potential to b better than 4.2 but is full of bugs right now.

I don't care much for v10. 9.5 runs circles around it and is alot quicker and has the zoom feature I like..... 10 has potential tho. I'm glad it's working for some of you. Everybody has different levels of tolerance.

The fact that you can only zoom to one pre-selected zoom level. Which makes it hard navigate around pages with lots of text. Because if you zoom out it's too small to read the text to know what you're looking at, and if you zoom in it's too big to see more than a few lines, etc.

It's funny, Opera Mini 4.2 only has one zoom level & I love the thing.

Opera10 has only one zoom & I hate it. Part of it is that OM snaps the text in place perfectly & doesn't wander all over the place as you try to scroll down a page of text.

I'm really not nuts about this browser. I normally use Opera Mini for 99% of my browsing & opera for certain downloads. I tried this one & I had to soft reset cause it hogged up so much ram that my whole phone locked up. It's pretty & all, but- Deleted.

Yea it caused my phone to lock up a few times too!

Less compatible than 9.5? I somehow doubt that. Name a couple of examples.

Funny thing is they simplified it so it looks just like opera mini 5 beta which I love

Re: opera mobile 10 BETA!

I totally agree with the above post. I loved opera mini 5 but there was just a couple things that I had issues with. You could not download, it was buggy for me in forums, and I did not like the keyboard they made you use.

All of those are gone, only big grip now is that there is limited zooming capabilities, how text wraps, and I wish it locked on to a text column like the mini version did.

Well untill then Here is the Cab from XDA developers that enables GSensor in Opera10

That's because they use the same UI. Didn't you notice that?

It's not that it looks like Opera Mini 5. Opera Mini and Opera Mobile look the same because they were designed to!

I like opera mini 5 better than opera mobile 10, I've had my phone lock up a few times with opera 10, never had a problem with opera mini 5.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (Windows Mobile; WCE; Opera Mobi/WMD-50255; U; en) Presto/2.4.13 Version/10.00)

Still rocking the 10 and feel its the best browser out of the 3 we have (Skyfire would be nice if they would stop being lazy and support vga/wvga). Anyway i noticed that 10 wont open if your charging your phone via usb... Strange, but not really an issue. Internet Exploder works fine. Not sure if covered here already but dont feel like searching this thread.

Mine opens while charging. (plugged into computer running as disk drive anyway).

Opera Mobile 10 Beta has not hung on me yet. Been running it every day since this thread started. Zooming is limited but it seems to be the right amount of zoom. I have my zoom set to 160%.

wierd, mine doesnt open (using disk drive) until I unplug it.

Found a cab on xda that enables g sensor and works fine. I think some are getting lockups because the ram usage is high. I dont use TF3D so my bloat is decreased. My usage is 62% while typing this message...

Anyway, thanks for the response.
