Re: Touch Pro 2 Battery Life

Prior to upgrading to wm 6.5 from my stock sprint tp2 my battery life was awesome and could last for days. Now that I have upgraded and have installed the mightyrom, my battery literally drains itself within a couple of hours of non talk time. It just sits there draining and draining? Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Thanks in advance

Re: Touch Pro 2 Battery Life

Thought I would contribute this:

Rom: Stock Sprint
Radio: Stock Sprint
Standby Time: 2h5min
Talk Time: 2h46min
Device usage Time: 7h56min
Communication used: (Wi-Fi, Data, bluetooth, etc.) Bluetooth always on, data connection always on
GPS Enabled: no
Push Internet Enabled: no
Push E-mail enabled: Yes, Exchange ActiveSync - maybe 125 emails
Any other pertinent information to device usage.
S2U2 v2.12, most of the calls done with bluetooth headset, Hotmail set to deliver as items arrive (maybe 20 emails). Using the Seidio 1750 mAh battery. Moderate data usage in addition to email.

Battery was showing 10% when I plugged it back in.

Re: Touch Pro 2 Battery Life

Nice post dafuse,

I got my TP2 yesterday and I'm loading calkuin's 6.5.1 rom on now. My battery lasted fairly well, I got it at 40% wand used Bing GPS turnby turn for an hour drive along with playing with the phone for 4 hours and battery was still at 20%. I'm hoping to stretch it a little further but I'll let you guys know after my first full battery and then in a week or so after its settled.

Re: Touch Pro 2 Battery Life

I did another little experiement last night: I usually have my TP2 plugged in all night, so last night, I left it unplugged. I am runnign the new version of S2U2 (2.14), and I want to verify the claims of battery life being sucked out by S2U2. Data connection was left on, and I got about 35 emails overnight. When I woke up, battery was at 80%, and soon went down to 70% when I started doing things with the unit this morning. That drain was a bit more than I was hoping for. It was a span of 6 hours only.

I will do the same thing tonight, but uninstall S2U2 first to make the comparison.

I'm a bit disappointed, because this is the first time that S2U2 works for me, functionally. On my TP, it would delay the incoming call alerts so much that I always removed it. Same goes for all the other locking programs, for that matter. With my TP2, the delay is really acceptable, so I kept S2U2 installed. Now I'm kinda hooked on that thing, but if it's killing my battery, I won't be able to use it much when I travel (office is ok, I usually charge during the day).

Re: Touch Pro 2 Battery Life

Battery life on my Tilt2 (ATT Touch Pro2) is also excellent. I have push email from an exchange server as well as heavy SMS usage and a couple of log conferance calls every day. I have the stock rom. I also use Google Maps from time to time when I travel. I get a day and a half and it charges fairly quickly on a 25 minute drive to work. I have thought about a second battery, like for my Touch Pro but for what? Maybe to fill the empty battery spot in the cradle?

Re: Touch Pro 2 Battery Life

battery life on the tp2 is good ,id say definitely in comparison to my TP1 which it replaced.
ive had treo 650 and treo 755p, and a mogul before the Touch pro 1.
torwards the end of use of my 755p battery would last 2 days without charge but that could be because all i used it for was call, music and SMS.. definetly didnt play with it as much as the TP1 or TP2

still the TP2 battery will hold up the full day and thats enough for me..

Re: Touch Pro 2 Battery Life

After running several ROMs / Phone Models, my experience has been the same:

The battery life is never going to be as good as I like.

Having said that, Juicy seems to have the best battery life without tweaking. Mighty is average, and Energy has the worst (I run Energy anyway and love it). This is consistent with my experience on the TP (previous phone).

You can tune any ROM's power settings to some degree...

You can always buy one of those HUGE batteries if you really want...
