Re: How do I get my ROM name to show in device?
Maybe this will help you along.
As some kitchens are quite different, it's difficult to guide you exactly. I will try to summarize. It can be changed as before by Going to OEM\NewGene\COMMON\OEMVERSION and changing the values ROMDate and ROMVersion in the file mxipupdate_OEMVERSION_100.provxml These files may be named differently for you. Here is a summary of the provisioning .xml. Your OEM can place your provisioning XML files in Image Update packages in ROM to be processed either during cold boot or during Image Update. During cold boot all files in all packages are processed. During Image Update only certain files, in packages that have been updated, will be processed. An Image Update Package can contain two types of provisioning files:

Re: How do I get my ROM name to show in device?
Thank you for the great info, I searched my .provxml files and didn't find what you reffered to. I used the provxml editor but wasn't able to locate what I needed. I am using Ervius Visual Kitchen to cook my roms maybe you know of where I can find this info knowing the kitchen I use.
Thank you again, I really appreciate the help. |

Re: How do I get my ROM name to show in device?
You put your rom name in the Rom version box?
And nothing shows on your device info, under settings,etc,...? It shows nothing for Rom version on your phone? |

Re: How do I get my ROM name to show in device?
Yes it's weird... When the rom is being flashed the ruu says my rom name, but when I check the device it has the version of the base files that I used to create my kitchen.

Re: How do I get my ROM name to show in device?
Strange, sorry I can't figure it out for you. I am not real familiar with that particular kitchen, unfortunately. Although it shouldn't be too different from what I use.
Only thing I can think of now, is maybe you used a space in the rom name and it rejected it. Defaulting it back to the base files numbers. ![]() On a side note: You should add this to your sig. J/K "and never smile about anything that you regret!" Last edited by santod; 11-14-2009 at 08:39 PM. |

Re: How do I get my ROM name to show in device?
I think I figured it out, I think... I used the rom tools in the kitchen to write the version name into the kernel. I will report back if that works.
