Waiting to get an unlocker for the replacement from Cmonex. I had to send Olipro a copy of my reciept of replacement to prove it...

That sucks to hear! I am going to start asking for a credit of service now. It's just BS. They rake in the dough and can't provide a proper signal. I think it has to do with their network. What could the actual hardware differences be, between VZW's TP2 and Sprint's TP2? I haven't heard any problems with Sprint or any of the other CDMA TP2s.

Re: Verizon Users Getting Stuck in 1X --- PLEASE READ!

I have run into the same problem, the odd thing with mine is that I have had my TP2 for about 6 weeks now and had no problems. Tonight I went and finally swapped over to an official Verizon plan (had been on a grandfathered in Alltel plan) and when I got home it started doing this.

Not sure why the change in plan would have made a difference

Well I am still on my Alltel plan and my phone still does this. Today I went to a town that has very little signal it dropped to 1x the whole time I was there. When I got back to my town which was about an hour or so it still was at 1x. So I had to do a reset in order to get back to 3G. So I dont think the plan has anything to do with this? I havent got a Clue????

There's nothing that you need to do to make it do this. Basically, you will be in an area with known 3G coverage, and your phone will say 1x for extended periods of times. I've gone days and days with a 3G signal and then had it drop to 1x and get stuck there for a day or longer.

It's not Verizon's network. I also have a Droid that gets phenomenal 3G signal and never drops to 1x. The same is true with my aircard.

We still don't know if it's firmware or hardware. But I agree it's not 'the network' in the sense of signal strength.

Who has the responsibility for the Ev/1x fiasco? Verizon or HTC?

After upgrade flash to Mighty Rom 11/25 I can't get out of 1x. This problem beset me even in stock 6.1.

Just curious how many of you all are heritage Alltel customers on Alltel plans with Verizon phones?

Now I find if I choose CDMA only that 3G/EV returns automatically. I have usually kept my phone on that setting because I only use it locally.
