Re: dear chefs:nobody is willing to cook 6.1 anymore? ! the forum misses 6.1
I have to chime in. WM6.1 is just as good as WM6.5 or 6.5.1 depending on what you're looking for. I also prefer 6.1. The stock rom IS fast. However, there is a great benefit to have a custom rom or kitchen. For example, I want the manila 2.5 on a 6.1 rom. I don't knock 6.5/6.5.1 at all. I like it. I just happen to prefer 6.1 (mostly for the menus as well). For anyone wanting 6.1 is custom flavors, try SSK's kitchen/rom.
Now... let the hating continue... cmonex even told me herself that she prefer WM6.1 so it can't be that bad! |

Because it's a matter of user preference, 6.5 is cool, but I am still very comfortable with the 6.1 systems capabilities and customizations.

Re: dear chefs:nobody is willing to cook 6.1 anymore? ! the forum misses 6.1
I had reservations flashing custom 6.5's since I upgraded to the TP2 from the TP. Stock WM6.1 on the TP was worthless...let me rephrase that...the manila was crap...it took clean up cabs...tweaks...regedits...nuetools...and various wonderful cabs from XDA and here...to get it less annoying!
With that being said...the stock WM6.1 on the TP2 runs great. TF3D2 runs great. Even without tweaks...its stable and functional in every way. I flashed within 24 hrs of the HSPL drop because I wanted my fix...and wanted to see how far 6.5.1 have progressed. IMO...6.5 is more pain in the butt because you have minor improvements in all... TF3D2.5 is exciting, Titanium is good if you use it...but most people that end up staying with TF3D anyhow. 6.5 is stable...the UI is worthy...and most 6.5 cooked ROM's are stable and more importantly supported. So, IMHO...if you want 6.1 on your TP2...just stick with the TWEAKED stock ROM. If you're already tweaking the heck out of your 6.1...then why don't you pick up a kitchen and cook yourself a custom 6.1 tailored to your needs?

I would like to use WM6.5 but I have an application I use for work that will not work on 6.5 so I have had to go back. I would love to see a WM6.1 ROM with TF3D 2.5. In reality I can't see many other good reasons not to just go with a cooked WM6.5 ROM...I sure would if I could.

There are only 2 reasons why I'm using 6.5 right now.
1. There's no Mightyrom 6.1 for the TP2 yet. 2. I love having a background in my programs menu. Honestly, that's it. I have noticed no real advantages that it has over 6.1, other than looks. If MightyMike did an MR 6.1, I'd be willing to give up my pretty start menu.
