Re: Are You Stickng With Stock Roms Or Flashing?

I just wanted to say first thanks to the chefs and the unlocker team first. I have been a flasher for a while but lack the time and skill to become a chef myself. This is early in the game I think we are all beta testers pretty much so a few bugs are fine with me. I think I enjoy the entire process really from waiting and complaining about the unlocker release, to finally settling in to a rom 15 versions down the road, snappy and perfect (for me). The process to me is amazing that a community of guys (and gals) can get together and outdo software engineers with millions of bucks behind them for a few beers worth of donations. The chefs need us to flash in order to get the end result we all want/need. Just my 2 cents.

How do you get the stock rom back if you flash a new rom?

Re: Are You Stickng With Stock Roms Or Flashing?

The stock sprint rom was worlds apart from the stock tp rom, but MAN was it UGLY! I really REALLY like mighty mike's rom with rico's blue theme. It also adds the weather animations I was looking forward to previously, and ALSO adds the my location functionality to tf3d.

The thing that I'm surprised was missing was the facebook and youtube integration, but given that this is a whole new version of the album, I think perhaps they simply aren't out yet.

When the HD2 gets to tmobile uk in november, we might be seeing a lot of improvements in regards to tf3d 2.5 (or is it 2.6?) I just hope they can not only easily pull what they find on the hd2, but make it cdma compatible as well.

For now, mighty rom is a great rom for a great phone and i'm content with it and my decision to keep it over the stock rom.

There's a thread in the CMDA TP2 forum that's stickied. It contains EXE files for each stock rom.

Basically, if you ever want to go back to stock, just run the EXE that corresponds to your provider while your phone is connected via activesync and has a battery charge of 50% or more.

Do you have to relock your phone in order to use the EXE that has the stock ROM? I'm not looking to return, I just want to run a stock ROM for now.

It's best the phone be unlocked for the stock Sprint ROM to take and you don't have to relock it after. But thats up to you. You only should relock it if you are returning the phone to Sprint.

Re: Are You Stickng With Stock Roms Or Flashing?

I tried the MightyRom for a day, then switched to EnergyLeo...quite happy with it..but i do miss my STOCK... especially the SMS/MMS application...stock looks much nicer than Leo...although My Location on Leo is pretty awesome. I spent quite a bit of time tweaking the Leo to my liking, not quite ready to go back to Stock and re-tweak everything again....i guess i'll stick with Leo for now.

Re: Are You Stickng With Stock Roms Or Flashing?

I haven't even downloaded the unlocker yet. That's how much I care about custom ROMs on the TP2. lol

I don't know though. Maybe it's the fact that ROM building is all about adding the latest trends instead of offering the most stability with SOME of the new features. I tried probably 10 different ROM makers for a total of 25 or 30 different ROMs on the TP. Some of them were great with the features, but would lock up or sluggishly perform at random intervals.

The stock TP2 ROM has no issues so far for me.

Re: Are You Stickng With Stock Roms Or Flashing?

I'm jumping into the conversation late, but.......I'm on Sprint and this is the best stock ROM I've ever used...dating back to the early dawn of PPCs. I have the .CABs of everything I need and performance has been great. Let's see what happens with the physical build of the phone down the road.......

Re: Are You Stickng With Stock Roms Or Flashing?

Just to see, I downloaded a popular ROM today and unlocked my TP2. Just as expected, it had a lot of the cool new features from HTC, but it was sluggish as hell compared to the stock ROM. Flashing back to stock as I type this.
