I'm having the same issue and i'm not using PIMBackup. Text messages that were coming in were not getting the right time stamp. I believe i temporarily solved the issue by going to the Time Synchronization and Updating it under Services even though my time was correct to begin with.

This issue sucks, but im glad that im not the only having it cuz i thought i was doing something stupid to cause this. Can it be on carriers end?

Another thing for me is that ive had the phone for over a month now it seems this problem just started a few days ago. And where is Time Synchronization so I can try that to?

time settings are under
start--> settings-->personal tab --> phone --> CDMA Services tab --> time synchronization

i think the text messaging thing is because of sprint and not the phone. I have had texts come in later but with an earlier time before on the regular touch pro. It didnt happen that much just once in a while.
