Re: Question for other verizon guys.
I think it is do-able.... in fact, I recall a rep in the store essentially proposing it as an option to me at some point in the past.
That said, I'd wait and see what others say. |

Re: Question for other verizon guys.
wait so you want three lines in alll..Two on a family plan and a third separate line. You want the family plan to include your tp2 and a new imagio and then purchase a non data phone for the third person...your question isnt clear but I would assume the person with the diamond is not on your family plan currently but you would want to get a new every two rebate on the phone and use the new line ur adding to get the rebate. Well i would say to order the imagio for the person that is on your family plan. Then downgrade the diamond to whatever phone you like and then a week after you get the phone for rebate call back and ask to switch the phones and make the appropriate changes to your billing plan..They should oblige

1. I want 3 lines on the plan. 2. My line does not change. 3. Currently have 2 phones on the line. 4. 2nd person has a diamond and wants imagio but cannot extend the contract yet. 5. A new (3rd) line will be added with imagio. 6. 3rd line gives the phone away to the 2nd line. 7. 3rd line gets a dumbphone so cancels a data plan 8. 2nd line uses the imagio with the current plan. My question is when 3rd line signed a contract for 2years, did that mean data plan must be in tact with that line? |

Re: Question for other verizon guys.
No it doesn;t require a data plan for the two years. But you end up paying $10 a month for 2 years on a line no one uses. It is almost better to buy the phone outright or on ebay. And by the way there is no need to call to make changes. Use *228 option 3 to switch phones and you can remove data online after the change.

The 3rd person does not need a data plan at all, he just needs a phone with good reception and stuff so I would not be paying for a line that will not be used. Thanks. |

I have done this exact same thing on Verizon. Because I had to have the Touch Pro 2, my son got a cell phone. He thinks its because his 13th birthday has come and teens have cell phones I had 2 lines on a family plan. I added the 3rd line with the TP2. Once I got and activated the TP2 I called Verizon and had the new TP2 put on my number and my Touch Pro put on the boys number. Then I got the Samsung i730 I ordered from eBay the next day and changed the boys phone from the Touch Pro to the i730 so I didn't have to have a data plan for him. One thing to think about with Verizon that is different from ALL other CDMA networks is the SERVICE OPTIONS are connected to the device and not the number the device is on. ANY DPA device made after November of 2008 is required a data plan on Verizon regardless of your account or family line age. |
