Re: Sprint employee stated TP2 is getting WinMo7 (assumed to be false)
I have a good friend that works on the Win mobile (smart phone) team at Microsoft. He doesn't use anything more exotic than a TP2 to test Win Mo 7. He actually thought my TP2 was quite responsive and fast.
At Microsoft, they use mules, any current PPC device on the market and test (WinMo7)the operating system for errors and bugs. The do get a few PPC models that are not on the market yet, provided (to test) by manufacturers, like Toshiba, Nokia and HTC among others. The operating systems Microsoft develops appear very different from what we get after HTC tweaks the OS in their own development.
HTC uses the underlying operating system (currently 6.1 Sprint & 6.5 with AT&T) and builds a shell on top of Windows Mobile. It is quite possible for the TP2 to run Win Mo 7 in the future, but highly unlikely on the TP2.
As for Sprint employees, I have learned over the years never to trust anything they say.
