Mostly interested in the notes fields for the pocket outlook and pocket informant apps. In these applications, you can tap and hold the screen to insert the date. I'd prefer to use a keyboard combo instead if possible. Any ideas?

After installing...

Start Menu > Settings > System Tab > Keyboard Config

Menu softkey (bottom right) > Add key

Then pick the key you want to map to the TAB function. I chose the message key. The drop-down menu on the pop-up window is just in case you wanted to hit the Function key (Alt key) AND another button or the Caps/Shift key AND another button. If you chose to do that, select the option from the drop-down menu, then click the button you would also hit.

Pop-up goes away

Go down to the bottom and hit the + button. From the drop-down menu, select Default key action (all the way at the bottom). Hit OK

Then at the EVENT drop-down menu, click on if you want to map the TAB function to that key by pressing it twice, 3 times, or by holding it down for 300ms (that's what I did with the message key).

Once you've picked that selection, hit the + button again. Select Emulate Key Press from the drop-down, then from the KEY drop-down menu, select 9 Tab. Click OK twice, then Update Config softkey (bottom left), hit OK on the pop-up. Then X out. Give it a test run. Use it in Word or IE or whatever you needed it for.

What's the argument to set the mute button to do an action "except when in a call" as shown in bold above? I've tried several arguments, but none of them work, thereby disabling the mute button's true function when in a call

Re: Post your Keyboard Config

Does anybody know how to map a key to the power button on top of the phone? I tried to map the back key long press to Power management -> Suspend Device, but all it does is to make the screen blink and I can't wake up the phone when it is off. Basically I want to find a way to suspend and wake up the phone via one of the 4 keys in the front so that I do not need to reach to the top of the phone for the power button. I have a Sprint TP2.

What exactly are you trying to have done to the power? When you press the power button at the top, it basically just powers off the screen, so if you're looking to do the same thing with a long press of the back key, select Power Management > Power off Screen. I don't think "Suspend Device" is something truly supported by the TP2.

Re: Post your Keyboard Config

I searched this thread for a command to toggle the Wi-Fi router. I'd like to be able to set "Hold Mute" to "Turn on WiFi Router" but I can't seen to find the program and/or the command string. Has anyone been able to set this up? I see how you can toggle the WiFi, but taht's not enough. Is there any way to Toggle the WiFi Router?

1. Menu --> Add Key
2. When the Dialog Box opens, choose "Fn" from the drop-down, then on the physical keyboard choose the "C" key

3. Under Key Mode choose "Direct key mapping" from the drop-down
4. Under Key choose "C key" from the drop-down
5. Make sure "Ctrl" box is checked
6. Click "Ok" soft key

In steps 2 and 4 choose X for cut, V for paste, A for all, etc etc. Make sure you back up your config as well.
