What is manila 2.1 and 2.5?

Is the HTC Sense UI the same as what is running on the HTC Hero? If I check out YouTube videos of the Hero will I get a good idea of what the TP2 will look like running the Sense UI?

If you're talking about a .cab that will give you 2.1 it is not likely. The reason is those are more like .exe files for your phone. Manila 2.1/2.5 are basically things cooked up in the ROM (OS) and can only be accessed through flashing your phone.

Not quite, Sense UI for the Hero is different then Manila's Sense.
Basically HTC took themes from the Hero and added them in to Manila.
The hero looks and operates completely different than the touch pro 2

Noob question here but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere else: How do you get the weather in home screen? I am using energyrom for my Sprint Touch Pro and as far as I can see none of the other TP CDMA roms have this feature. What am I missing? Thanks.

having the weather on the home tab is a feature of the newer versions of manila. currently none of the touch pro roms have this. reason being is because these newer versions were designed for wvga devices (tp2/hd2) whereas the tp1 is vga. once the packages are resized they will be avail for the tp1 im sure. there is one tp rom that i know of that has this but it is VERY alpha and no at all ready for daily use

Thanks for the clarification, that makes sense since I was seeing them in the TP2 section but not TP and it was eating me up.

what about the wallpaper animations? i saw a video on pocetnow.com that show the leo having several different theme animations on the homescreen (not the weather). do you know if this is incorporated in any 2.5 rom...or is it 2.6? any clarifications if appreciated

the original 2.1 is what you have on your phone now, the is a new version of 2.1 called htc sense that includes weather clock, home screen animations etc. majority of the rom previews that you see in the upgrades section are the new 2.1(htc sense) NOT 2.5 like many believe. when the carriers release their 6.5 upgrades they will most likely come with the updated version of 2.1 (htc sense)

2.5 does not support landscape in any tabs other that music and photos. that is not a bug or glitch its how it is supposed to be because it was desinged for a phone without a keyboard. the only place that this is affecting is when you are in touch flo3d everywhere else (ie: emails, word, opera etc) you will have landscape like normal

the new version of 2.1 has all the features of 2.5 excpet the shortcuts on the home sceen and some other minor cosmetic differences.

The theme is called Dusk, i didnt make it but ill make a post about it soon.

another tidbit i forgot to mention is that 2.5 has twitter and footprints tabs as well

for side to side comparisons i suggest checking out nrgz28 roms in the upgrade section he has a 2.1 and a 2.5 all else between them is the same, thatll give you guys the best idea about whats diff
