Re: Windows Marketplace question..

this was actually a way to stop people from distributing the cab files to elsewhere (say for instance, your buddies, family, friends of friends and friends of those friend's friends..so on and so forth). Buy 1 app and everyone else gets it, sadly folks over at Microsoft underestimated us forum followers

Re: Windows Marketplace question..

I can actually see where they are coming from on the cab you pay for. But making you install it to the phone itself I don't get. Plus, the free cabs, I don't see why you couldn't install on your card.

Thanks for the link.

I don't care. If I can't choose to install apps to my storage card, I'll just continue to buy them from Handango or some other source.

Re: Windows Marketplace question..

Why would you, there's a ton of space on the phone itself and it'll very likely run faster as well as giving you the option to swap out SD cards whenver you want.

Re: Windows Marketplace question..

I have an aversion to installing applications to device memory. Always have.

Me too, except stuff that I consider very "core", and needing every ounce of speed due to timing issues, like in-call recording, etc. I have yet to visit this site, and may avoid it all-together. It's getting to iPhone-like. This kind of stuff is called "gradualism", just like what is happening in the political world. We get worn down, then accept things we couldn't have dream we'd accept a few years back.

I urge everyone to reject the Windows Marketplace. We don't need it. We need the opposite, in reality, freedom.

Two reasons, first, I beg to differ with your view that there is a ton of space. I've already come up against a memory overflow problem when running one application. Shaving 59kb freed up enough memory to run the application, so for this particular instance, there is a very small margin available.

Second, I feel that the programs are more secure on my SD card in the unlikely event I need to do a hard reset.

For the most part, you're correct about the speed.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I agree.

The only things I put on my 16 gig card are saved data, ripped DVD movies, pictures etc etc etc
