Screen lock/unlock using PROXIMITY sensor -

Hi folks -

I know there have been a LOT of posts re: finding a suitable solution to lock/unlock our devices (in order to avoid accidental screen presses while the phone is in a pocket or pouch).

Some people favor PocketShield, but I've had no luck with it (light sensor is just not sensitive enough to unlock my device a lot of the time - I know this is a known issue for TPs). I've also found programs such as S2U2 to be somewhat unreliable and inefficient. Currently I'm using a combination of cabs to unlock my device without much trouble (this is the best solution I've found - discussed here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...70&postcount=6).

But I had this idea:

What if somebody could find a way to use the proximity sensor to lock/unlock the device? Now THAT would be fantastic!

If this could be done (for example): as soon as you would put the device in your case (or pocket), it would lock up automatically. Otherwise it would stay unlocked (when it's on your desk, for instance). This would be similar to how Blackberrys lock/unlock (except better, as those devices rely on magnets sewn into cases/pouches).

I've searched for this type of solution high and low, but haven't found anything yet. Anyone else? Any brilliant developers want to take this on?
