Change TP2 MSL Code to 000000

Just to be clear: you don't *have* to change the code, it's just for convenience. I just left mine at the Sprint-issued MSL.

I didn't, but I was told that if you did leave it, when someone attempts to flash it to metro it will not work.

PimpSupra or anyone else, is this true? I have to make an appointment to get this taken care of, but my understanding was that the code change was optional.

I'm relatively positive it is, but its also something you could DIY. You need an XP based computer, a USB cable for your tp2, and QPST or CDMA workshop.

This is a very simple change in QPST (& you don't need a cracked version of CDMA Workshop). There is no reason NOT to do it just to be sure....

you dont need it lol, but its easy to use if someone has it already.

I've put the phone in Diagnostics mode, USB cabled it to a laptop that now has the CMDA Workshop 2.7 open. What am I to do next? I'm not seeing any transfer of data or info from the phone and the CMDA workshop screen has multiple boxes with no data.

What would really be awesome is a step by step write up. If I survive this I'll post it. I think it could help a lot of people who are "laymen" without any phone programming experience.

I thought the reason to change this code was to allow the phone's features to work on the METRO PCS network.

Go to device manager to find out what com port the phone is coming on. Then if its com 1-25, click what com port its on, hit connect, then if it says connect successful, read it,

Then go to security, then type in your spc, it will say SPC is unlocked, put in 000000, then write, and it will come up with a message saying changed code or something similar.

I've been told if you do not change the code that it will not go through houdini properly.I changed my SPC code to 00000 and programmed the web settings, and I have web and GPS working currently.

It says its on Com Port 5 in the device manager. Is the SPC the same as the RMSL code?
