cant u just use this to set what ever key u use the least to home(maybe the windows key), i havent used it but im guessing it works like the 1 for the tp1

Just got back from the Sprint Store and I'm supposed to be getting my TP2 in the next few days. I've already gone thru two TP1s since February. I took the phone in becuz it was freezing as usual and my music player wasn't working again. I was asking him about the new Touch Pro 2 and he was telling me how it was supposed to be better and all. He took my phone to the back and came back out a few minutes later with the good news:

"I went ahead and ordered the TP2 for you".

Took me by complete suprise, I was expecting to get another TP1. I just googled "Touch Pro 2" on the net and found this thread. Thought I'd post my experience.

I got my toch pro 2. I called Ashurion directly and told em i lost my touch pro and they asked if I called sprint and I said yea and they wanted to give me a TREO and I said heck no I want a touch pro and they said they were out. I SAID CALLED A MANAGER NOW!!! The manager said they would send me a touch pro 2 for 100.00 so its better than nothing. I got it the next day and I love it and my TP1 was not reported locked as a lost phone.

hm..i called asurion and they told me they couldnt replace it for a different phone.im about to activate my tp1 soon. i kinda like it a little more because of the roms smaller etc etc.

btw i read awhile back that they stopped replacing the tp1s because so many people were doing it.did they start replacing tp1s or?also anyone got it replaced for a htc hero?

Just wanted to clear this up a little. This is technically true but on a store to store/manager to manager/ tech to tech basis. They do have this option but only in certain conditions. You can't just walk in with the only TP you have had for 6 months and get a TP2 just because. And as far as the Howard Forums post I am pretty sure it has been reported to sprint higher ups and the poster is probably under investigation and/or terminated due to the fact that the screen shots posted were of the sprint internal site and also info meant for sprint employees only.

Question....

For those of you who got their TP1s replaced with the TP2... did they give you all the accessories/charger/etc as well or was it just the handset by itself? Also, did you get to keep the TP1 or did they take it back?

First replacement, refurb handset/battery only...second replacement, new unit with battery, sim card, charger, extra stylus, and screen protector.
