Known issue, just reboot with the headphones unplugged

Well, it sounds like a known defect, they should recall this phone and have them all replaced with the HD2.

ahahahahahaha yeah, that'll happen. Especially considering most people have the CDMA version, and AFAIK there's no confirmed CDMA HD2 announced. And HTC would lose millions

Yes it happens by nature, how unfortunate. It also occurred on the Touch Pro when rebooting with mini USB headphones as well.

Re: 3.5mm connection is muted after reboot

I've had the same problem and discovered an odd fix. When I unplugged my FM transmitter from the headphone jack, the phone's speaker remained muted and the headphone symbol still showed at the top of the screen.

I turned the phone off and on again. No change.

Did a soft reset...still no change.

But for no particular reason I grabbed a mini USB to 3.5 mm adapter that happened to be close at hand. I plugged it into the USB port and immediately unplugged it and, Voila! Rush Limbaugh boomed from the speaker to my delight!

Sure beats a soft reset.

Re: 3.5mm connection is muted after reboot

Yep this has been happening to me since day one. I have a Telus TP2 used to happen with the stock ROM and every other custom ROM I have tried out. I always pull out my headphones before doing a soft reset.

Re: 3.5mm connection is muted after reboot

I too get this when I was streaming. However it affects not only my 3.5mm jack but I don't get sound from my internal speaker and my bluetooth headset doesn't work. It seems to happen when I am using either streaming music in the car or the GPS.
