3.5mm connection is muted after reboot
I wonder if anyone is having this same issue. I'm on Sprint TP2 and everytime I am connected to the 3.5mm port with headphones and need to reboot the phone (using ShutXP) after the reboot, the 3.5mm will not output any sound. So I have to unplug it and reboot again to get sounds back. FYI... the volume control does not indicate a Silent setting and it doesn't fix the problem to adjust the volume either.

Re: 3.5mm connection is muted after reboot
Is it only when you reboot with ShutXP or is it the same when you use the normal power-down option ?
This is good to know... keep headphones unplugged if rebooting until a fix is found... O_o |

actually it is not only during resets..it happens randomly!

Re: 3.5mm connection is muted after reboot
I don't know the exact criteria to duplicate the issue. As soon as I posted this msg, I attempted to duplicate and it made me a liar! I will keep a mental note of the circumstances prior to my reboots from now on, but I can say it is usually done using PSshut because I loathe taking the battery cover off and I'm too lazy to bust out my drill. :)

Re: 3.5mm connection is muted after reboot
this happens to me too! atleast once a day while im at work. for mine to work ill have to reset using shutxp. but the thing is my shutxp will stop workin after awhile, so ill have to pull the cover and reset it. it never works if i hold the power button and turn the phone off.

Agreed, not a ShutXP issue. Happened to me several times after rebooting on a stock ROM with 3.5mm plugged in and no apps installed. Yes, it seems to be random too.

I've had this happen as well. Very annoying. Any solutions yet (besides the obvious)?

Re: 3.5mm connection is muted after reboot
I get the problem too sometimes. The cause is overheating I believe. When your streaming lots of music or video, especially over the cell network, the phone gets real hot internally and for some reason its unable to switch to phone speaker when you unplug the headphones.
The only way for me to fully get it back working is to take out the battery for a minute to let the phone cool down. When I am streaming through wifi, it doesn’t do that since the wifi doesn’t heat up the phone as much as the cell network. |
