Re: Best car kit for landscape GPS cradle?

I'm getting THIS.
You can use it either way with the vacuum base.
I am thinking I will use the vent mount more then the flexible arm.
But the arm looks interesting.
$5 shipped, whats not to like?

I don't know how I didn't see this link earlier but this one is perfect. I am gonna order one now.

EDIT: This is one is nice since you can open and close the phone without taking off of the mount

Re: Best car kit for landscape GPS cradle?

I got this mount for the TP2 and I am VERY happy with it. It is well constructed and has a lot of mounting options. It pivots on 2 axis and you can change it from portrait to landscape easily.

Rotates nicely from vertical to horizontal (but won't allow keyboard to be opened while in the mount).

I'm buying two of them - one for both cars (so I don't have to mess with taking it out of one and putting it in the other!). For $13, I can afford to do that!

The thing that worries me about this one is, if you look closely, it looks like it "grips" the phone on the bottom half (keyboard half) by spliting the phone open/apart,which can't be good on the phone...perhaps I'm wrong, but I think I'll wait for a review first...

I have this one. Got it last week. EXCELLENT mount for the phone.

It clips to the bottom (battery half) of the phone with small clips that wedge slightly into the split between the bottom and the top. No worries though there is plenty of play in the top slider to allow the clips without deflecting the slider much. It allows you to open the slider without having to unclip it from the mount. I have it attached to my windshield, but I think I'll move it to the dash when I can get a mounting disc. My wife's garmin has trouble sticking in the heat and falls off a lot. So far (fingers crossed) this hasn't fallen off at all, but it's been pretty cold here lately.

For the price, it can't be beat.

Finally got it in the mail... It works perfectly. Super Compact, custom fit. Done deal. I was surprised how well it works with my Sprint TP2. Keyboard even open up in the mount to use for navigation or whatever.

Would love the ability to use this mount clipped into an ac vent. Hmmm... I've looked around to see if I could frankenstein a vent clip onto this mount but haven't found a solution. I want it all! Swivel, use of keyboard and vent clips!
