Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

No TTS,
I do hear audible noises but no voice.
I'm on a JD rom of 6.5 for TP2

Any update on this issue.

iGo8 TTS is a no-go for me too on MigtyRom 11/25.

Does anyone have TTS working on one of the new USC based Roms?

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

I bought my mother Magellan portable GPS with Traffic (FM Traffic link), and found something interesting.

It came with an adapter/traffic link which can be found below link.

http://www.jr.com/magellan/pe/MGN_TRAFFICLINK/

The Magellan GPS alone does not have the traffic support itself, but with the adapter, traffic gets updated.

I didn't get a chance to try it out with the TP2, but if it works, it's a sweet deal IMO.

I just installed Mighty and don't have TTS with it (had it on stock Sprint).

I was hoping Mighty would give me the incoming voice announcement over BT, but that didn't happen either.

I should've stayed with the stock probably, but I'm going to try C_Fay or JD first -- if those 2 things work it's a go, if not, I'm back to stock and hopefully the TTS will be back (BTW I was using US voice Susan).

If you don't have TTS working, try to disable HTC Sense, reboot, then give it a try. TTS just needs loads of memory to work.

Try the TTS voices I attached. Read the instruction inside too.

I did try it with Sense off, but hadn't rebooted. I'll try that. And if no go, I'll try what you've attached. Thank you.

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

Sure enough once I rebooted with Sense off TTS worked. This on C_Fay's Rom. I don't think I'm keeping this Rom, though, but its an important lesson to remember to be sure TTS works.

Now if I could only find a Rom where the incoming announcement over BT works too.

Thanks.
