Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)
As per my past posts of not having any issues, I have run into a problem with my iGo8 on my TP2. After I have the device set up the way I want it, everytime I try to enter an address into the find menu, it constantly beeps and has a letter that doesn't disappear. It looks like the letter A with a tiny circle on top of it! That kinda bothers me, well, not kinda, it does very much, that means I can't use the text entry to enter in a destination address and sadly this happens in both Landscape and Portrait mode! If it make a difference, I'm am using Energy ROM Photon build 23081. But, my only issue with that is, when I do a hard reset with nothing on the phone, it works fine! If someone could give me some insight into this problem, that would be great. TIA

So, you had the same issue!? Ok, I just figured it out. I just changed the device type back to HTC Touch HD T8282, the interface vga value to 0 and the rawdisdplay highres value to 0 and it fixed the issue!

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)
Hi Folks,
For people trying to use the gurjon skin and having problems, here's what I've found out. The extension.rar file in the second post is missing the portrait configurations (or at least it was when I downloaded it). Without them you'll get an error when you are powering up (if you are configured into portrait mode). Here are the work arounds: Option 1: using the default skin, switch to landscape mode. Once you are in landscape mode, you can choose the new skin. Option 2: Fix the missing gurjon files. You can download the halfpatches from the website where you get the skin. These include the portrait files. Alternatively, if you don't need that particular function, I believe it is safe to delete that particular directory. Hope this helps. |

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)
I need some help please. The link in the 2nd post to the modified skin for TP2 takes me to the web hosting site, and there is no download file.
I tried the full file from the official site, and followed the instructions in the 2nd post, but the skin option is still grayed out. Do I need the modified file? How do I get it? Thanks.

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)
Thank you!
I have had iGo8.3.2 for some time and was happy with it (Q3 2008 maps). While I had the TTS voices/files, I was never able to get it working. With the instructions in the first post, I now have a fully functional GPS with TTS in both Landscape and Portrait modes (not, unfortunately, in 800x480 yet). Now to try the new skins to fill the screen....

Can someone please upload my package 480x800.rar from the first post somewhere else besides rapidshare - megaupload or mediafire maybe and pm me the link or post it here.
Thank you so much in advance... |

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

Thank goodness for 16gb card (also have PNA(standalone) TomTom GO910 installed in my car and build in Mercedes Benz GPS, thats 7 GPS navigators available to me when driving and i probably will still get lost) Initial poster thanked!
If anyone need any additional help in installing iGO8(or any other GPS soft for your TP2) do not hesitate to contact me i will do my best to help my fellow ppcgeekrs!
