Re: Touch Pro 2 Cleanup

Will your new cab file, automatically overwrite the old cab file?
Or do we have to uninstall it?

For the heck of it, I tried to uninstall it but could not.

Re: Touch Pro 2 Cleanup

I would install the tweak on a clean rom without any apps installed to make sure you get the best result.

I am waiting for him to fix the last issues before I move a new TP2 to 6.5 to make sure I don't have to reinstall everything later again.

Here's an update on what I'm working on for future releases:

Improved Start Menu Icons and Sorting (Done... Ready for next release!)
I've read the thread, and I'm not sure if this fix will be what I'm looking for, so I thought I'd ask...

(And yes, I've done a search first, but my search-fu is weak today, because I've not had any luck finding anything that seems to work.)

I don't terribly mind the new start menu (to be honest, ATM, I kind of like it). I just hate that new programs are added to the end of the list and that I can't sort by name, add new folders, and move links into them. Is that what this particular fix is intended to address?

Thanks!

Re: Touch Pro 2 Cleanup

As far as what I read I didn't see this coming, maybe I missed something. On my device (verizon running wm 6.5), I've tried the tweaks twice, and everything seems great, accept I just can't keep any programs running in the background. I've already changed it back so that I have to tap and hold the x to close applications, but as soon as I switch out of an application, using the startmenu, by turning the screen off, or by tapping (and not holding) the x, it closes. Should this be happening? Is there a way I can fix it. I know you were looking to get every ounce out of your device, I'm just looking for a little more control over what is and isn't running. Before this cab I could have 2 or three programs running at once, I'm just trying to get back to that point again. Other than that, great job.

Here's an update on what I'm working on for future releases:

  1. Unhide "Display" tab in Lock options for Windows Classic lock (Done... Ready for next release!)
  2. Text Messaging "Unread Messages" Fix (Done... Ready for next release!)
  3. Improved Start Menu Icons and Sorting (Done... Ready for next release!)
  4. Facebook Linking Fix (Done... Ready for next release!)
  5. Provide LED Notifications Fix (Tweaks Issue) (In progress!)
  6. Improve Multi-Select Mode in File Explorer (if possible)(Stock Issue)
  7. Provide "Classic" Start Menu supplement (if possible)(Stock Issue)
  8. Provide "Auto Lock" supplement (if possible)(WinMo Issue)
  9. Provide "Power & Backlight" Fix (no2chem applet issue)

I'm gonna finish up the LED Notifications Fix (the ability to properly enable/disable the LED flashing) before I go to bed, test tomorrow, and still on track for the release tomorrow evening.

Items 6-8 are more "long term" improvements... if anyone has recommendations, I welcome them.

For Item 9, a quick search hasn't revealed any updated version that is stable (translation: doesn't lock up on OK press) on WM6.5, so unless someone can point me in the right direction on it, I'm just going to remove the control panel applet until a better version is available. This does NOT affect the 1% battery driver, which I can confirm is NOT a source of battery drain. I can give about a dozen explanations on other things that may, but it is definitely not.
Great looking forward to the update tonight. One other thing will you be able to fix the turn vibration off when inputing numbers and text even though we have turned it off on the phone???? Or is this an HTC hot fix solution???

To turn off vibration when inputing numbers goto HKLM\software\HTC\Phone\PhoneExtendedSetting\

and change the key below:

KeyPadVibration = 0: vibration off
KeyPadVibration = 1: vibration on

Turns Vibration of in HTC Calculator

HKLM\Software\HTC\Calculator
Vibrate=0

Re: Touch Pro 2 Cleanup

Question:

Could you restore the old QWERTY keyboard which offers letters and numbers on one screen rather than switching between alpha and numeric?

I still use my stylus when typing on the screen and I am much faster this way or I use the hardware keyboard.

Thanks.

Re: Touch Pro 2 Cleanup

I'm so very disappointed. Your tweaks on my Sprint 6.1 TP2 were excellent. EXCELLENT. But the cab locks up my 6,5 upgrade. Total lockup. I can only recover with a hard reset. A soft reset locks up before I can remove the cab. That's a shame. I know you've worked very hard on everyone's behalf.
