Re: Proximity Sensor Disabled by Default
my sprint tp2 works perfectly and is extremely sensitive. by me putting it to my face it will turn off instantly if i'm on a call, the reason yours only works sometimes must be your screen protector.

I think you're right. Question, when you pull the phone away from your face, does it wake up to the home screen or back to phone? And do you use a screen protector? *EDIT: Waddyaknow? I peeled off the mirrored screen protector (what a waste of $10, makes the screen impossible to see in sunlight and busts the proximity sensor) and voila, sensor works beautifully, and so far I haven't had the screen wake up to home instead of phone while on a call. Re: Proximity Sensor Disabled by Default
is it a thin one or a thick protector?" Thin ones should not affect it. The prox sensor requires your face to be almost touching the screen though

Re: Proximity Sensor Disabled by Default
I'm not familiar with skype but does skype use the dialer that comes with the phone or does it use its own dialer. If it uses its own dialer I would assume thats the reason. The sensor will only kick on when using any of the regular dialers.

Re: Proximity Sensor Disabled by Default
- The screen protector that's on it is the one that came with the T-mobile package.
- And ya, thanks a lot, P-slim, I didn't know that you have to use the dialer that came with the phone for it to be activated... it's coz I saw demos on you tube with a guy putting his finger on the sensor while the phone is on the table. |
