I think you're right. Question, when you pull the phone away from your face, does it wake up to the home screen or back to phone? And do you use a screen protector?

*EDIT: Waddyaknow? I peeled off the mirrored screen protector (what a waste of $10, makes the screen impossible to see in sunlight and busts the proximity sensor) and voila, sensor works beautifully, and so far I haven't had the screen wake up to home instead of phone while on a call.
