Well I have had it up and running for the past hour with only one reset. Maybe it was the battery but I don't understand why it wouldn't stay on even when plugged in via the USB? Verizon offered to send me a new one so I think I'm going to take them up on it. Can anyone tell me how to back my contacts up?

Had the battery gone completely dead? If it's too low, USB will not provide enough of a charge initially for you to keep it powered up. You have to let it charge for at least 30 minutes in my experience.

Verizon is sending me a new one. It reset 2x today so better safe than sorry... I am still under their "30 day worry free" guarantee and am indeed worried about it...
