I killed her Jim....

Well being a noob at all this I just killed my Verizon HTC Touch Pro2. I think what done it was I deleted something I needed in the File Manager. I had a few themes on there that didn't work so I went to clean them off and now the phone won't stay on. It continuously attempts (about every 5mins) to boot up but dies after the green WinMobile splash screen & there is a orange light that stays on. I tried a Hard Reset & removing the battery. Any ideas?

Thanks ~ Travis

Re: I killed her Jim....

Every time I've messed up something a hard reset will restore it to how it was when I first bought it. Maybe you're not doing the hard reset right. I use the clear storage in the start/all settings/system/memory/clear storage/1234 and it works fine.

Re: I killed her Jim....

Did you actually get to the screen where it asks you if you want to perform a hard reset?

Here's the thread on how to do it:

- Hold the Vol down, Talk & End (Power) buttons down at the same time for the Hard Reset right?

Yeah and make sure the device is completely powered down when you do this. If you do it when it's powered up, it won't work. In other words, pop the battery out, put it back in and then do the sequence above.

Re: I killed her Jim....

No luck. Going to plug it in and let it charge for the sake of charging overnight, but I am sure it was 75% charged when it started acting up. Will try again in the morning. Any other suggestions would greatly be appreciated! Thanks everyone!

For my telus tp2, to hard reset, you need to to hold: volume down, send key, end (power) key, and the reset button.

Yeah it's pretty tricky, I just put the stylus between my teeth for the reset button and press all the other buttons with my hands.

Let me know if that works!

This is the correct method for verizon.

Telus & Verizon (Power Button On END Key)

Sprint & USC (Power Button On Top of Phone)

Yeah it's confusing, whatever.

Telus & Verizon = Rhod5000
Sprint & USC = Rhod4000
