Re: Duplicate Ring Tone Entries
The phone by deafult searches for ringtones in two places:
\Windows and \Windows\Rings You will notice that many of your "Alerts" are stored within the \Windows directory and many of the Rings are in the \Windows\Rings folder. I would suggest moving them to these locations to avoid duplicate entries. |

Re: Duplicate Ring Tone Entries
all of my own ringtones are under "My Documents...My Ringtones" ... my "Windows...Rings" folder is empty. I don't think anything about ringtones is in the registry, but if you delete one of the sets, make sure you go to your contacts and double check that the "link" to the custom ringtone is still good. I deleted doubles once and then it killed the links 'cause I deleted the ones I originally made the link to. Quick fix, though.
I hope I explained that well enough. Sounds rambly, but the besst I can do.

Re: Duplicate Ring Tone Entries
Just to finish this up:
I deleted the mp3's in the My Documents...My Ringtones folder. This eliminated the dual entries. I rechecked my contacts, and only had to reset 1 or 2, as they must have previously referred to the deleted entries. All is well! |
