wouldnt be too suprised. The HTC Imagio XV6975. has 6.5 shipping on its launch date and will be verizons first smartphone to include nearly all its services (vcast music, vcast video, mobile TV, ect.) with all these new apps and verizons picky ways I doubt that they wouldnt have the device use some type of acceleration via drivers...still have to wait and see.

I saw that Imagio announcement after I posted and have to agree lol... I'll be buying one of those just to get a few files off of it. Might make a nice second going out phone too.

I find it a dubious claim for a variety of reasons
why would htc mandate one carrier have the 3d acceleration and not all? Noting from the gsm side of the wm 6.5 release, I didn't see any graphics acceleration files when I ripped the rom apart and when I ripped the updated vzw rom to shreds
so all we have is speculation
but in the mean time, I would suggest using the combo of gfxboost and neo2007a driver pack 3 combo
best solution by far especially when you try the GT engine as a test sample.

I only know people at Verizon, it probably will be released for all but I've only heard about it in regards to Verizon. Unless the Imagio uses some fancy tricks to get VCast to work smoothly (doesn't even play that well on other non-HTC devices), it will come with drivers. It also uses the same CPU family as what the last gen and current gen Touch series has...could easily bring to other devices, both us and HTC. I'm not getting all that excited over it...I love my TP2 and all but better to have no expectations than to have expectations crushed. We'll see what happens over the next few days...

Imagio (and its GSM and global ilk) will be around for quite some time, and I doubt HTC is gonna start using Snapdragon on everything from now on (WinMo7 and WinMo6.5 will live side-by-side for quite some time...W7 for high-end devices, 6.5 for low).

I haven't been able to locate anything on VZW's 6.5 update, and I have a lot more, let's say "connections" than any retail store employee would. I'll keep my ear to the ground and let you guys know what I hear. I'd take this with an extreme grain of salt for now.

It would not be impossible for Verizon to be the only one to get the update if Verizon coughed up the licensing fees. Assuming this is the case..

If this were true couldn't the files just get ripped from the Verizon ROM for us Sprint guys?
