Issue with face dialing

Is there someway to lock the screen while in a call so I have to use a slider before accessing any other call functions? I thought the prox sensor was supposed to turn the screen off when the phone is against your head. Maybe after all these years I just don't know ow to hold a phone to my head.

This has happened to me too. I wish there was a way to make the dialer ask for confirmation. Has anyone found a replacement dialer program? I notice that once you tap someones name in dialer, it greys out "end" until the call connects, so you can't prevent that persons phone from ringing. Very embarrassing!
