Outlook sync sub-folders

Question: I have no issue syncing OTA or tethered with my Exchange 2007 server, for my Inbox main folder. I even see my sub-folders in my mailbox list, but they are empty. Someone know what I have to do to get the sub-folders to sync up with my TP2?

thanks

Re: Outlook sync sub-folders

I wouldn't mind knowing how to do this either. Even if it only downloads the headers for "Sent Items", as an example, from the current date forward, that would be helpful.

Re: Outlook sync sub-folders

Go to your Inbox, where you can see all your emails in front of you. Then bottom left click Menu>Tools>Manage Folders

Once in there you should be able to hit a checkbox next to whichever folders you want other than those it syncs by default. It will then download them during the next sync with whatever download settings you've set for the entire account.

Watch out if you have any rules set up for new emails. Sometimes you'll get a new email indicator and just can't find it in your inbox, to later stumble upon it in one of your newly synced folders.

Re: Outlook sync sub-folders

Getting there. I now have new messages sync'ing from the other folders. Do you know what I need to do to pull in existing (already read) messages?

UPDATE

I marked all of the messages in my sub-folder that I wanted to sync to UNREAD. Then all of those that qualified for my sync rules (last 30 days) sync'd down. Then I marked them all as READ and sync'd again. All is now wonderful.

Re: Outlook sync sub-folders

The information in this thread was very helpful, now I can get sent mail from my main computer onto my TP2. But email I send from my TP2 does not sync back up to my main PC. I've checked Sent Items both on the phone and on MS ActiveSync. What am I missing?

Having the same issue. Exchange 2003 shows the sent files on the HTC, but mail sent from the device does not sync back to exchange.

Wirelessly posted (VZW TP2: XV6875.1 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en))

i too have the issue with items sent from tp2 not being 'pushed' back to server. would love to see or find a fix for this.

have a work around for it: cc or bcc yourself on the email and it will get to ur inbox atleast.

Other issues: folders under inbox: if i have a server rule that moves the new mail from inbox to sub folder under inbox, i dont get a notice of new mail. This is true for both tp2 and outlook. Anyone have a quick fix for this one? (has to be server side rule and not client side rule).

I'm not having any issues with sent mail getting sync'd to my Exchange account. I'm not sure if this makes a difference or not, but I have "Sent Items" checked in Manage Folders.

I have been looking for a fix/app/whatever to this issue, with no luck. I have a ton of rules and folders. I'm running 6.5. At least its a little easier to quickly open up your folders and finger scroll . . . way better than 6.1. But I'd love to have the e-mail notification work for the mail moved to subfolders.

after searches on the web it looks to be issues with both outlook client and server. There are numerous post about the subject.
1 method i tried was leaving the message in the inbox and have the rule copy the message to the sub folder.
This works well untill your account size reaches the limit and then it cant do the copy (and once I would read the mail in the inbox I would delete it from the inbox but still have it in the sub folder).
This was a good work around as long as I remembered to delete from inbox ONLY thoses messages that were in the copy rule.
