No iphone for me. Iphone users are very fragile. I will be a customer again once Tegra devices come out. In which i thin are next in line.

i look forward to your defects thread for the tegra devices...
all expensive products have problems. you won't find a smartphone without issues, you just won't.

regarding the rainbow effect, it is weird that all of mine were fine but all of yours weren't. perhaps it is the way people are using the touchscreen? maybe you've been doing something that causes it? i'm not trying to point fingers, but it's worth investigating... do you press pretty hard on your screen? i hardly tap my screen when i use these phones...

Honestly I don't use my phone ruff at all. I would say that I dogged out my 2 apaches and 2 moguls compared to my 4 tp1's and my apaches which I still have to this day are in excellent condition. My moguls at that time were perfect except for the lack of ram issue. I also have a diamond sitting next to me that me and my girlfriend use and quite frankly I have never had to replace the diamond that I got from day 1 and you should see it, my girlfriend abused the hell out of it but the screen is still perfect. But all my tp1's have had that issue occur within 2 months of initial use regardless of how I use the phone. For example with the tp1 I have now, everything was fine one morning while I was at work been using the phone all morning with no oil issue, a few minutes later I walked up to the phone and BAM, the oil residue in on the screen. WTF?

Over my neck of the woods we call em. "El Cheapo"

My biggest gripes with HTC is the drivers. I care less for everything else. but now that I am hearin g that the Pro2 had a uneven backlight, dead and stuck pixels, oily rainbow and the screan lcd archs upwards. Thats the signs of cheap poor quality 3rd stage after market lcd reproduction made in slave labor camps. BS.

@themuffinman,
yeah that is pretty weird. i don't understand what this oil stuff is... like how does it even happen? if this is a display issue, i would think there would be logical explanations for them or comparisons to other devices that have the same problem. maybe i missed it, i dunno...

one more thing... did u have one of those screen protectors on them that use the spray solution to apply (zagg bodyguards or ghost armor)?

Actually what it is is the layers seperating from the upper touch resistive screen. Apparently they seperate and cause that rainbow effect that you can press around. I wont get any worst but its rather annoying under florescent lights.
