Is this the "oil slick"?
Hey guys. I think my TP2 has the "oil slick" problem on the screen. I never had a Touch Pro or Diamond before the TP2 so I am not really familiar with it.
Basically it only happens under fluorescent light, but when it does, it is pretty visible. It is about 1 cm by 0.25cm and has around 3 rings to it. I tried to take a picture of it but basically the camera would over/under saturate so it was hard to really show what it looks. I had to edit the colors in the picture a bit too to make it more visible. So is this the "oil slick" or something else? http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/9...ilslick.th.jpg |
Re: Is this the "oil slick"?
wow...if it is also happening to the tp2...not good at all....it is a known issue on the TP1
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ight=oil+slick if you dont have a screen protector just to make sure, sometimes screen protectors will cause the rainbow/oil slick blob effect........correct you can only see it under floresentlight then that is a bad display my friend. |

Re: Is this the "oil slick"?
That scares me very much...I plan to switch to the Touch Pro 2 on my next pay check :)...and my current Touch Pro has this problem. How do you avoid this. There has to be some way...

Re: Is this the "oil slick"?
WTF? I can not believe this is happening again. Every touch pro I had(4) had this same problem and it was so annoying to me. With the last two pro's I had I just dealt with it until the keyboard started to die on both. This had better not happen to my lovely tp2 or I am going to be very upset.

Re: Is this the "oil slick"?
These things are selling like hotcakes and this is the first time ive heard of it. i wouldn't worry about it being a production issue. that being said, that mark looks ugly. send it back.
