Re: Boxwave announces the release of their screen protectors for the Sprint TP2!

I had the boxwave on my mogul for the 26 months that I used it. Had no issues and still looked like new. I have had the box wave (GSM version) on my TP2 since I got it and have not had any issues. It is regularly slid in and out of the case and used all throughout the day with no problems so far. I am using the body glove case that sprint advertises for this phone. Its leather and works great.

Did you use the water method in the sticky thread to apply the protector to your TP2 or just apply it like they instruct you to on their website?

I have used the below method for years on applying screen protectors.
I havent ever soaked in water/soap or anything like that
I go to the bathroom and have the screen protector package and phone ready to go. I turn on the shower as hot as it will go. let it get really foggy and steamy in there. I then open screen protector package, remove the screen protector from package

There are two protective films on the screen protector. I remove the side that does not adhere to the phone, I then remove the protective film on the phone/pda device, I then set that down briefly to remove the protective film on the side of screen protector that adheres to the screen. I then, started with the end that is next to the phone buttons (end call/pick up call) ect and then lay it down straight and use the provided cardboard to smooth out any bubbles that may be there.. usually there arent any but sometimes there are. Moisture I dont worry about to much as it will evaporate in 24 hours or so and you will no longer see it under there.

Thats it. Never get dust or hair between protector and device.. If you ever need to lift the edge of the screen protector to get dust out or to reposition take a piece of double sided tape. wrap around your finger and then on the edge of the screen protector closes to edge of device, press down and lift up the screen protector using the double sided tape..

** keep in mind, boxwave doesnt use an adhesive to stick to the screen like others do. That is why they use soap ect..

Boxwave uses static electricity/charge to adhere. that is why it is reusable.

Re: Boxwave announces the release of their screen protectors for the Sprint TP2!

I just got this e-mail back from Boxwave asking why the camera cut-out. I am so confused now...and getting sick of companies passing GSM stuff off as CDMA. Yea, it may sort of fit, but don't advertise it as a specific model if it really isn't...

"Thank you for your email!

Unfortunately at this time we do not have screen protectors designed specifically for the Sprint Touch Pro2. As the European Touch Pro2 and Sprint devices are almost exactly the same (minus the camera cutout), we offer the same design for both devices. We should have updated version for the Sprint Touch Pro2 available in the next month.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!

Best Regards,

DeChi

In my opinion we have absolutely nothing to lose ordering the protectors from Boxwave. If they arrive with the hole in them you could always use it and then email or call them demanding a credit for misrepresenting the item on their website.

See this thread I made with two replies from Boxwave and an explanation / ETA for ones without a camera hole (since sprint/verizon are the same)

I can confirm this as I received 3 today with holes. Needless to say I am pissed off!

I put one Crystal protector on my TP2 as it still offers what I consider to be the best protection with the best quality clear image of any of the brands available. The other 2 protectors I had ordered are going back and I intend to ask for a discount for the one on my phone.

By the way, it was much easier to apply than the other brands and you don't have to use the water application method that is described in one of this forum's sticky threads.

Re: Boxwave announces the release of their screen protectors for the Sprint TP2!

well i didnt mind the camera hole in it. Not a big issue. I just placed an order for 3 more last week and they are out of stock.. I really hope they come in before my replacement phone is here.

Honestly for the quality, you can not go wrong with boxwave. They are awesome.. I did ask them if they would be getting any without the hole for sprint ect.. and they said not at this time. That they are using the same one for both sprint and UK versions..

Re: Boxwave announces the release of their screen protectors for the Sprint TP2!

I used the Boxwave protector on my Treo 700WX for at least two years and it showed no sign of wear. So I got the Boxwave for my TP2 and it does come with the hole, which is annoying but the quality of the protector is much better than the stock one, which I didn't do a good job applying and it started to peel off and is not reusable.

I got the anti-glare, but would not recommend it because you lose a significant amount of light from the screen. But if you are outside a lot with phone maybe it is the correct choice.

Application of the Boxwave is easy. Follow their instructions. Plus I used the steam room method plus latex gloves and an air cleaner to avoid getting any dust. I got a couple of bubbles but they went away in a couple of days.
