VZW sold out of TP2? - Page 11

still shows out of stock for me. went to the store today and they said the same thing. they are also telling me that i still HAVE to change my plan if i want to get the tp2 which is total bogus because everybody on here that HAD alltel didnt switch there plans.

Not a problem. I just looked up the Z6TV and notice that it has Bluetooth. You might be able to transfer the contacts using bluetooth. I just realized my Voyager has bluetooth as well (I never used it). I'll take a peek at it when I get home from work to see if it can be done that way. I don't think they tried it strictly with bluetooth when I took the phones into the store.

Edit: Sorry about the double post. The good news is that bluetooth transfer works for contacts and calendar events (at least for the LG Voyager). Once connected I simply browsed to my device. I was able to pop up a menu with several options including Send Name Card (contacts), Send Event, and Send Picture (doesn't work with the TP2). I was able to send all my contacts at once (ditto the calendar events). The name gets put entirely in the Last Name field, but phone numbers were correctly listed as mobile/home/work, as were e-mail addresses. Much easier to cleanup than the SIM card route.

Edit 2: For anyone curious, my Voyager shows the Touch Pro2 as being capable of: Serial Port, DialUp Networking, PBAP PSE (???), Headset Audio Gateway, HandsFree Audio Gateway, Audio Source, AV Remote Control Target, OBEX File Transfer, and OBEX Object Push.

It will be a download from somewhere, HTC or Verizon, that you run from your computer when the device is connected via USB cable. It would be similar to applying the stock ROM currently available or flashing a custom ROM.

Still says out of stock online but I just called sales, 12:30pm est and they said they were instock and i ordered one. I also requested to get the mail in rebate as an instant rebate. At first the sales rep didn't know but, eventually they could do something called internet price match or something. I'm on a different line as primary holder, but I could still use primary holder's NE2 discount, combined with instant, for a total of $99.99 + 5.99 tax. Although there is free two day shipping, the rep said something about how this is a "global" phone it must go through something that might lengthen the shipping time to about 3-5 days... I got regular.

Finally a new phone.. I should've done this earlier instead of waiting for the online to say instock again..

Well still out of stock on the east coast just called again this morning and was told them have none. I don't want a touch screen

only phone but if I can't get one ordered I might just order the Imagio until I can get my hands on the Touch Pro 2 since I will have 30 days.

Well it is Monday now and I am still getting the we don't have any in stock story. Next call will be after lunch when I will inform them since my contract is up at the end of this month I just gonna go to another carrier to get it and maybe somehow one will appear.

I went in to a Verizon store and a guy there ordered one and he actually called in every couple hours for me until they had another one in and ordered the 2nd one for me.
Maybe you can find someone like that

The only problem with that, is I don't know if threat tactics work with companies this large. I mean, honestly, what is one user to them?

I'm not absolving them of anything, but my guess is just that they severely underestimated the success/demand of this phone.

It is also possible that those of us who successfully got the TP2, just happened to call at the right time and get the right rep.

I got a shipment notice of my order. Here's to hoping that a TP2 is in the box and not a touch pro.
